Glenda Ullrich, 74, of Sergeant Bluff passed away peacefully, Sunday February 14, 2021 with her husband by her side. A prayer service will be held at Saint Joseph Church in Salix, Iowa at 7:00 PM February 25, 2021. Visitation will be from 5:00 to 7:00 PM with the family present. The funeral will be held on Friday, February 26, 2021 at 10:30 AM at the church with Reverend Michael Erpelding officiating.  Burial will follow at Saint Joseph Cemetery in Salix. Due to Covid 19, Social Distancing and Masks will be required.

Glenda was born on September 8, 1946 in Le Mars, Iowa to William and Dorothy Borchers of rural Plymouth County.  She grew up on the family farm near Craig, Iowa. Glenda attended Akron Community School where she graduated in 1964.  She attended Nettleton Business College in Sioux City.  Glenda started her career at Blue Cross/Blue Shield where she enjoyed employment for forty years, before retiring in 2004.

Glenda was united in marriage to Bert Ullrich on July 8, 1967 at Saint Patrick’s Catholic Church in Akron, Iowa.  She was a devoted wife, and mother to their two sons.

Glenda enjoyed nature by spending many barefoot hours tending to her flowers and vegetable gardens. She also enjoyed watching and feeding birds.   One of her winter pastimes was snowmobiling with her husband Bert and many friends.

Survivors include her husband Bert, son Mark of Sergeant Bluff, Iowa and son Aaron of rural Hardwick, MN.  She is also survived by her brother Dennis Borchers of Brunsville, Iowa, sister Carol Van Beek and Husband Roger of Sergeant Bluff, Iowa and sister Mary Parkinson of Akron, Iowa and several nieces and nephews.

Glenda was preceded in death by her parents William and Dorothy Borchers.
