Glen Edward Morey, 61, of Sioux City, IA, passed away surrounded by his family on August 5, 2024, at a local hospital. A Celebration of Life will start at noon on Friday, August 9, 2024, at River side Park, Pavilion #5. Arrangements are under the direction of Waterbury Funeral Service of Sioux City.
Glen was born on August 3, 1963, on Edwards Airforce Base in California. He was the son of Particia Edwards and Roland “Slim” Beintema. He graduated from Westfield High School and was united in marriage to Cindy Auch. To this union they had 2 children. Glen then met Missy Verville, with who he had been with over 24 years.
Glen worked for the City of Ft. Worth, TX and other maintenance jobs. He had a knack for small engine repair and doing lawn work, even maintaining the baseball diamond for the City of Benbrook. He enjoyed Siouxland PACE, cars, going for rides, listening to music (especially Johnny Cash), and going to Stone Park. He loved spending time with his children and grandchildren.
Those left to honor his memory include his children: Josh and Brooke Morey; significant other, Missy Verville; grandchildren: Lucas Curt Morey, Jocelyn Morey, Jordynn Smith and Brooklynn Smith; siblings: Terri (Merle) Pithan, June Ristau, Jeff (Anita) Beintema, Roxanne Aasen, Brenda Watkins, and Helen Moss; as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins.
He is preceded in death by his parents; sister-in-law, Cindy Beintema; and cousin, Russell.
