Glen Edward Houts passed away peacefully on February 11, 2026, in North Sioux City, SD, at the age of 91. A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, February 21 at Riverside Lutheran Church. Visitation will be Friday from 5-7:00 p.m., with a prayer service at 6:00 p.m. at the church. Burial will be at Logan Park Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Waterbury Funeral Service of Sioux City.
Glen was born on January 31, 1935 in Westmont Illinois to Glen and Hazel (Rochester) Houts. The family moved to Sioux City in 1938. After Glen Sr passed away in 1938, Hazel married Arthur Haggerty. Glen attended school in Sioux City, Smithland, Mondamin and Rodney, all in Iowa.
Glen married Gwendolyn Olson in 1954. To that union was born LeAnne Schnee, Candice Comstock and Glenda Gormally.
Glen married Sharon Moyer on September 30, 1961. To that union was born LaJean (Farrell) and Glen Houts Jr.
Glen worked construction and built towers. He worked for Towers Construction, Steel Structures, Midwest Culvert and Royal Iron.
Glen was a member of Riverside Lutheran Church for over 60 years and Christ the King Lutheran Church in Bella Vista Arkansas where Glen and Sharon had a second home.
Glen and Sharon enjoyed traveling, golfing, and volunteering for Hospice of Siouxland and Meals on Wheels.
Glen was preceded in death by his wife, Sharon Houts, his parents, Glen Houts, Hazel Haggerty and Arthur Haggerty, and his siblings: Pauline Fink, Lois Levering, Robert McKelvey, Vernon McKelvey, Etta Solomon and Clara Mead.
Glen was survived by his children: LaJean (Jeanie) Farrell and her husband Keven and Glen Jr and his wife Dora all of Sioux City; his grandchildren: Tyler (Toya) Farrell, Kasey (Britt) Farrell, Hannah (William Roberson) Houts, Glen Houts IV, Colin Houts and Kirk Houts; his great- grandchildren: Lydia Farrell, Thérèse Farrell, Genevieve Farrell, Killian Farrell, Gibson Farrell, Josephine Farrell, Lainey Farrell and John Farrell.
Memorials may be directed to Riverside Lutheran Church or First Tee Siouxland
