Gerald “Gary” E. Schuldt, age 62, of Sioux City passed away on Thursday January 3, 2013 at University of Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha, Nebraska.
Funeral Services will be held at 10:30am on Tuesday January 8, 2013 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Sioux City with interment and military rites held at Memorial Park Cemetery. Gary was born on February 13, 1950 on Sioux City, the son of Myron Lee and Ona Mae (Custer) Schuldt. He attended Riverside High School. He served his country as a member of the United States Army from 1967-1971.
On November 6, 1971 he was united in marriage with Janet M Berube in Troy, New Hampshire. The couple made Sioux City their home.
Gary worked for many years at Warren Electric and Rogers Electric in sales, until his illness forced his retirement in 2009.
Gary loved life and enjoyed it to it’s fullest. He enjoyed fishing, reading, traveling, and playing cards. He always enjoyed learning new things, as well as being a student of history. He had a wonderful sense of humor, and was always happy. He treasured the time he could spend with all of his family, was a wonderful husband, father and grandfather,
He will be missed by his loving family which includes his wife Jan of Sioux City, his sons: Gary Lee Schuldt of Sioux City and Technical Sergeant Joshua Schuldt stationed in Belgium, his daughters: Heather Mae Schuldt of Eldersburg Maryland, and Holly Marie Scoffield and her husband Jason of Carlisle, Massachusetts. He is also survived by three brothers: Glen of St. Paul, Minnesota, John of Galliano, Louisiana and Randy of Sanford, Michigan and two sisters: Diane Riggins of Loda, Illinois and Roxann Meyer of Litchfield, Minnesota and his four grandchildren: Elisabeth, Ethan, Andrew, and Harrison.
