Georgia Faye Rounds
Sergeant Bluff, Iowa---Georgia Rounds, 74, of Sergeant Bluff, Iowa, passed away Thursday, December 22, 2011.
Services will be held Tuesday, December 27, at 10:30 am at the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Salix, Iowa. Visitation will be Monday, December 26, 2011, from 5-7pm, the prayer service from 7-8pm at the church, with the family present. Waterbury Funeral Service is in charge of arrangements. Georgia was born March 20, 1937 in Cherokee, Iowa to George and Helen Godwin. Georgia was George and Helen’s only child. She grew up and graduated from the Aurelia, Iowa schools. Georgia was united in marriage to David Rounds on December 21, 1972.
Georgia was a homemaker, and loved spending time with her parents, husband, children, grandchildren, and her many friends. Georgia loved music, dancing, reading, and her horses and dogs she had throughout the years. Georgia’s favorite holiday was Christmas, as it was a time when all her family was together.
Survivors include her 6 children, Jeff Coombs and wife Kathy of Rockford, Mn; Kathy Smith and husband Doyle of Sgt. Bluff, IA; Gary Coombs and wife Karen of New Smyma Beach, FL; Kyla Holton of Onawa, IA; Joel Coombs and wife Hallie of Hutto, TX, and Dawn Rounds, and fiancé Todd Cole of Fremont, NE. 22 grandchildren, and 6 great grandchildren.
Georgia was preceded in death by her parents, George and Helen Godwin.
