George E. Skinner, 67 of Sioux City, died Thursday, December 25, 2014 at a local hospital.

Memorial services will be held 2 pm Monday, December 29, 2014 at Waterbury Funeral Service of Sioux City, 4125 Orleans Avenue. Visitation with the family will be 1 hour prior to service time. Military Honors will be provided by the US Army.

George E. Skinner was born on December 25, 1947 in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, the son of Roy and Dorothy (Beeler) Skinner. He graduated from the Le Mars High School. He was in the Army from 1968 to 1970. After receiving his honorable discharge, George drove truck for Roth Trucking for 5 years before becoming employed with Werner Trucking. He retired in August of 2013. On November 28, 1988, George was united in marriage to Janet “Jan” Llewellyn in Dakota City.

George enjoyed fishing, watching stock car racing and the company of his Shichu’s, Dutchess and Tuffy.

George is survived by his wife Jan; son Tim Hamilton of Florida; 8 girls and several grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren; his brother Loren and sisters Marian, Lynette and Darlene.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
