George "Pat" Mulvihill, 83, of Salix, passed away Wednesday, February 18, 2015 at Kingsley Nursing and Rehab, Kingsley, Iowa.
Services will be held 11:00 am Saturday, February 21, 2015 at Salix United Methodist Church with Rev. Catie Newman officiating. A visitation will be held one hour prior to service time at the church. Arrangements are under the direction of Waterbury Funeral Service of Sergeant Bluff.
Pat was born May 3, 1931, in Salix, Iowa, the son of Maurice and Mae (Beaubien) Mulvihill.
He graduated from Salix Public Schools in 1949. Pat married Mildred Sprecher on April 10, 1959 in Wichita, Kansas. He joined the United States Marines and was stationed in California during the Korean Conflict.
Pat worked for Boeing Aircraft in Spokane, WA. And Wichita Kansas, Terra Chemical in Sergeant Bluff for 17 years, and retired from MCI maintenance department. Pat would also sharpen farming discs as a side business. He enjoyed gardening and was a member of the American Legion in Sergeant Bluff and the Salix Fire Department.
Survivors include his wife Mildred, sons Kelly (Nancy) Mulvihill of Sloan, Michael (Tina) Mulvihill of Sioux City, daughter Sheryl (Bob) Buck of Nevada, IA, brother Louis Mulvihill of Sioux City, sisters Marian Terry of Grand Island, NE and Edith Powell of Derby, KS, six grandchildren Cody, Dylan, Taylor, Ryan, Aaron, and Abby, and one grand grandchild Abby Pry.
He was preceded in death by his parent’s; two brothers Mike and James Mulvihill and three sisters Mary “Ellie” Lamoureux, Grace Chilton, and Ann Hungerford.
