Obituary

George E Harvey, age 83, of Sioux City died on Monday morning September 27, 2010 at his residence surrounded by his loving family.

Memorial services will be held at 11:00 am on Friday October 1, 2010 at the Glad Tidings Lighthouse Church in South Sioux City, Nebraska with Rev. Michael Ring officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service on Friday at the church. Waterbury Funeral Service is in charge of arrangements.

George was born on Sioux City on August 8, 1927, the son of Eldred and Anna( Bennett) Harvey. He attended Sioux City schools. He served his county as a member of the United States Army during World War II.

George was united in marriage with Roberta Still on November 8, 1952, and to this union three daughters were born. He worked as a self-employed brick layer his entire life.

He was a member of the Glad Tidings Church, and Monahan Post # 64 of the American Legion.

George loved the time he spent with his family, playing with all of his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He also enjoyed photography and having coffee with all of his friends.

George is survived by his wife of 57 years Roberta of Sioux City, his three daughters; Doreen Walker(Jim), Kathy Drury(Mike), and Nancy Beckner(Terry) all of Sioux City. He is also survived by his five grandchildren and his six great-grandchildren, along with one sister Ruth Greene of California.

He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, and two sisters.
