George H. Graves, Jr., 80 of Sioux City, passed away Sunday, November 12, 2023, at a local care center. Memorial Services will be held 11 am Saturday, November 25, 2023, at the Waterbury Funeral Service of Sioux City, 4125 Orleans Ave. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery, with Military Honors.

George Hiram Graves, Jr. was born on August 6, 1943, in Boca Raton, Florida the son of George and Evelyn (Barnes) Graves. George was a 1962 graduate of Sioux City's Central High School and shortly after enlisted in the Army serving 4years, he was stationed for 3 years in Germany and then on the Army base in Arizona for a year.

After his honorable discharge, George worked as a civilian employee at McClellan Air Force Base in California and later at Warner Robins Air Force Base in Georgia.

Returning to Sioux City, George enjoyed working and restoring 1950's and 1960's Chevy's. He was well known at the area car shows.

George is survived by his sister, Carolyn Heien and brother-in-law, Bob Heien Sr., his Siamese cat Rambo, nephew, Bob Heien Jr. and his wife Julie, niece, Jodi Nelson and her husband Jon, great nephew, Zack Heien and fiancé Annie, great nieces, Tia Heien and Ashley Church, great great nieces, Brinley and another baby girl due in January, step great nephew, Geoff Nelson, step great niece, Sydney Nelson

George was preceded in death by his parents, George Sr., and Evelyn, numerous aunts and uncles, and cousins.
