Gay L. Orr, 57, of Sioux City, passed away Tuesday, April 29, 2014 at a local hospital. Services will be held 11:00 am, Friday, May 2, 2014 at Sioux City Baptist Church with Rev. James Pointer officiating. Visitation will be held from 4-8 with family present from 6-8 on Thursday, May 1, 2014 at Waterbury Funeral Service. Burial will be in McCook Lake Cemetery, following the service. In lieu of flowers; memorials may be directed towards the family.

Gay was born on June 27, 1956 in Grand Island, Nebraska, the daughter of Ted and Maxine (James) Ball. She spent most of her life in the Sioux City area and attended school in Westfield, Iowa. Gay married Jerry Orr on May 21, 1974, in Sioux City, at the Sioux City Baptist Church.

Gay enjoyed crocheting and doing crafts, but most of all, loved spending time with her grandchildren.


Gay is survived by her husband Jerry, daughters Inde (Nathan) Henneous of Sioux City and Jerri Lynn Orr of Sioux City, three grandchildren Independance, Alexis, and Dayton, brothers Doug (Christine) Ball of Las Vegas, NV, Dennis Ball of Sioux City, Ted (Brenda) Ball of Sioux City, Tim Ball of Sioux City, and James (Brenda) Ball of Walt Hill, NE, and sisters Kay Roybal of Las Vegas, NV and Patty (Randy) Stanton of North Sioux City, SD.

Gay was preceded in death by her parents and an infant grandson.
