Gary R Nyreen, 82 years old, of North Sioux City SD, passed away surrounded by his family Saturday May 8, 2021 after a short illness. A memorial service will be held by Zoom, with a reception to be held at a later date. Waterbury Funeral Service is assisting the family with arrangements.

Gary was born 4/22/1939 in Sioux city, IA to Cecil and Lettie Leona (Levine) Nyreen. He was the youngest of five children. On July 9 ^, 1956 he married his sweetheart June M Nagtegaal, who preceded him in death four years ago. They had one Daughter, Binnie Goodwin and one Son, Leon Nyreen.

He dedicated his life to Jehovah God on April 29, 1961, talking to everyone he could about the bible and Gods coming Kingdom. He always had a story from the bible to apply to your present daily life situation. Another passion was his garden. He would say every spring, he was going to plant just a ‘small’ one and each year it got bigger and bigger so that he would share produce with anyone that wanted some. He enjoyed watching animals in his back yard, feeding wildlife and going fishing.

Survivors include Binnie (Richard) Goodwin and Leon Nyreen. 4 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, 3-great-great grandchildren; his is brother Danny (Arleen) Nyreen of North Sioux City, and brother Ronnie (Myrna) Nyreen of Norfolk VA, along with many other relatives. Preceding him in death, his sister Betty Johnson and brother Dale Nyreen.

Gary had many others in the Christion congregation that he called brothers and sisters, who he cared for. He will be greatly missed by all.
