Gary Fester, 61, of Sioux City, IA, passed away peacefully at home March 5, 2025. A visitation will be Tuesday, March 11 from 4-7:00 p.m. at Waterbury Funeral Service of Sioux City.  A funeral service will be held Wednesday, March 12, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home.  Following the service A luncheon will be held at The Mestizo Clubhouse 2829 Correctionville Road in Sioux City starting at 2pm.

Gary was born on February 28, 1964, in Omaha, NE to Robert and Rosemary (Earley) Fester. He was united in marriage to Joanne Carroll on March 29, 2002. Gary loved watching football; he was a diehard Dallas Cowboys fan. He loved riding his motorcycle with his brothers & he especially loved spending as much time with his kids and grandkids as he could.

Gary grew up in Sioux City. While in high school at West he was a wrestler. Gary's love for travel is what led him to be a truck driver. He also drove for Siouxland Taxi. Gary enjoyed playing the drums. He was a member of a dart league and a pool league. Gary was an active member of The Mestizo Motorcycle Club, a support club for The El Forastero Motorcycle Club in Sioux City, IA. Many knew him as Mestizo Gary, and he took great pride in that. On any given Friday you could find him hanging with his brothers at the clubhouse. He found it funny to talk smack and whoop his brothers in darts. Although usually the oldest in the room, you would never guess. Gary’s smile lit the whole place up and quite often he was twisting your arm for “shots”. Mestizo Gary will be missed by all of his brothers.

Those left to honor his memory include his wife, Joanne Fester, children: Damon (Alicia) Corey, Brianna Fester, Katie (Irv) Tinker, Kristi (Josh) Wilde, Chelsey (Angel) Vasquez, Jamie Fester & Dallas Fester & 15 grandchildren. His siblings: Tim (Andrea) Fester, Bobbie (Daren) Speichinger, Kathie (Mike) Church & many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces & nephews

He is preceded in death by his parents.
