Gary Burton, 62, of Sioux City, IA, passed away April 9, 2025, surrounded by his family.  Per his wishes, cremation has taken place and there will be no services.  Arrangements are under the direction of Waterbury Funeral Service of Sioux City.

Gary was born on February 24, 1963, in Los Angeles, CA to Dwayne and Judy (Thompson) Burton.  He graduated from high school and enlisted into the United States Army in 1981 before he was honorably discharged.  Gary worked as a sheriff deputy in Sioux City, Council Bluffs, and Denver, CO.  He was united in marriage to William Roepke on December 8, 2017, in Branson, MO.  They had just recently renewed their wedding vows.  Together they enjoyed riding motorcycles and camping.

Those left to honor his memory include his husband, William Roepke; daughter, April Klundt; siblings: Glen Hase and Deborah Dillon; 3 grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents.
