Franklin "Frank" Joe Charles Wood

Franklin “Frank” Joe Charles Wood (Hųųc Sēp Nąžį ga),50, of South Sioux City, NE, passed away surrounded by his family on April 20, 2026. A funeral service will be held at noon on Thursday, April 23, 2026 at St. Paul’s Indian Mission. Visitation will start Tuesday at 3:00 p.m. at the church until the time of the service on Thursday. Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Waterbury Funeral Service of Sioux City.

Frank was born on August 7, 1975 in Winnebago, NE to Larry Wood and Carla Hallum. He graduated from South Sioux City High School and went on to receive his Associates of Art degree from Nebraska Indian Community College in 1996. Frank loved his family and was a great Jaji and Tega to the next generation of kids in his family. He was a great artist and loved to draw. He enjoyed spending time with friends and family, listening to rock music, watching Everybody Loves Raymond and Law & Order, and his cat and dog: Lucky and Frankie.

Those left to honor his memory include his mom, Carla Hallum; brother, Tony (Candice) Wood; sister, Holly Messerlie; nieces and nephews: Tatyana, Gabriel, Abraham, Aurelia, Emanuel, Paulina, Anthony Jr., Anna, Titus, Nevaeh, Jordana, Jiselle; great-nieces: Mabel and Sienna.

He is preceded in death by his dad, Larry Wood and sister, Kerri Wood.
