Frank "Buck" L. Johnson, Jr.
Buck Johnson, 90, of Belton, MO, went to be with his Lord and Savior on October 5, 2016 at Beautiful Savior Home in Belton, MO surrounded by his loving wife and children. A memorial service will be at 2:00 PM Saturday, October 22 at New Horizons Church of the Nazarene, 17200 Chestnut Drive, Belton, MO with a one hour visitation prior. Interment with military honors will be November 14, 2016 at Ft. Leavenworth National Cemetery.
Buck was born March 28, 1926 in Cambria, VA, in his beloved Blue Ridge Mountains, to Frank and Florence Johnson. Buck was a WWII Army Air Corps Veteran. He was awarded a Purple Heart while serving in the 449th Bomber group as nose gunner on a B-24 bomber out of Italy. Buck lived in Sioux City, IA, before moving to the Belton area over 25 years ago. Buck was a contractor/builder and served his Lord in many ways including Sunday School teacher, Church Board Chairman, Music Director, Soloist and serving on the Iowa E.F.C. district Board. Buck was a precious husband, dad, grandfather and great grandfather.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Norma; son, Terry (Laura) Johnson, Stillwell, KS: daughters Debby (Rodney) Keul-Asbra, Des Moines, IA, Kandy (Dan) Doran, Sioux City, IA, Lori Johnson, Grandview, MO and Jodi Johnson, Kansas City, MO; sisters Iona Oliver, Christiansburg, VA and Maurine Nester, Salem, VA; 10 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren.
