Frank D. Carda, Jr. 79 of Sioux City, Iowa passed away Sunday, July 21, 2024, at his home, surrounded by his family. Celebration of Frank’s life will be held from 2-6pm Saturday, August 17, 2024, at Shelly and Steve Barkley home, 32707 Hedge Ave. Sioux City, Iowa.

Frank Daniel Carda, Jr. was born June 9, 1945, in Sioux City, Iowa the son of Frank and Hazel (Larson) Carda, Sr. On July 6, 2024 Frank and Carmen celebrated their 56-wedding anniversary and in this union, they had two daughters, Dawn and Shelly, or as Frank would say my baby girls. He retired from IBP (Tyson) after 30 plus years.

Frank enjoyed riding his motorcycles and dancing, he even taught his baby girls to dance. He loved going fishing, camping, and woodworking. Frank’s woodworking was fabulous. Many memories were made at the campgrounds of Minnesota. Frank loved his family with his whole heart, didn’t think his heart could grow much more until the grand babies were born, what a great papa he was.

He is survived by his wife, Carmen, two daughters, Dawn Carda, and Shelly (Steve) Barkley, three brothers, Steve, Larry, and Philip Carda, four sisters, Marsha Carda (Kelly), Pat LeClair, Barbara (Terry) Fowler, Sandy Carda, five grandchildren, Morgan (Hunter) Turner, Autumn Carda, Alex (Raven) Barkley, Erik (Sierra) Barkley, Shay (Jazmin) Barkley,  and 11 great grandchildren; Hudson and Madilynn Turner of Georgia, Vincent Barkley, Sophia Barkley, Sawyer Barkley, Declan Barkley, Anthony Barkley, Franklin Barkley, Crew Barkley, Brynn Kirby, and Randall Kirby all of Sioux City.

Frank is preceded in death by his parents, Frank, Sr. and Hazel Carda, and many family members.

Said by many, and everyone, “He was a good man.” We lost a good one.
