Francis E. Brown, 86, of Sioux City died Saturday, May 1, 2021 at a local Hospital. There will be no services. Waterbury Funeral Service is assisting the family with arrangements.

Francis ‘Frannie’ was born June 23, 1934 in Sioux City, Iowa the son of Edward and Dehlia (Flick) Brown. He grew up in Sioux City, graduating from Central High School. Frannie married Lillian Lingham January 10, 1953. They later divorced. He married Carolyn Thompson May 9, 1970. Together they made their home in Sioux City. Frannie was baptized in 1975 as one of the Jehovah’s Witnesses.

Frannie had his Automotive Service Certificate. Over the years, he worked at Armour and Company, Ever Ready Towing, Pontiac, Meier Towing, and the Sioux City School District for 10 years, and later owned and operated C & F Auto Repair.

Survivors include his wife, Carolyn of Sioux City, children, Wayne (Norma) Brown of Haywarden, Iowa, Deborah (Jerry) Hale of Sioux City, Matt Brown of Sioux City, Gary (Cathy) Brown of Sioux City, William (Rose) Brown of Sheffield, Iowa, Cynthia (Ed) Cottrell of Sioux City, Kathleen (Rod) Reed of Osceola, Iowa, Lisa (John) Dawdy Jr. of Alcester, SD., Machell Naylor of Sioux City and Angela Jones of Sioux City; many, many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; a brother, David (Roxanne) Brown of Utah and a sister, Jean Hodgins of Pierson, IA; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents, granddaughter, Rochelle Cottrell; brother, Matthew (Elaine) Brown, and a sister, Julie Morley, son-in-law, Donald Naylor.
