Enola Steineke, age 90, of Sioux City died on Thursday April 12, 2012 at a local care facility.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday April 19, 2012 at Tri-State Christian Church in South Sioux City, Nebraska at 11:00am. Interment will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation with the family present will be held one hour prior to the service at the church. Waterbury Funeral Service is in charge of arrangements. Enola was born on April 1, 1922 in Cleghorn, Iowa, the daughter of Emile and Mary (Springer) Ducommun. She attended Beauty school following her graduation from High School. She was united in marriage with Ronald L. Stieneke in 1943. Ron preceded Enola in death on July 11, 2011 in Sioux City.
Enola worked as a beautician for a few years, she later was employed as a lunch assistant for the Sioux City Community Schools, but spent most of her life as a wife and mother. She enjoyed baking, and formerly bowled in league play in Sioux City.
Enola is survived by her son Jerry and his wife Pam of Sioux City, and her daughter Jackie Eakin of Mechanicsburg, PA. , her five grandchildren; Robin Lardie, Jared & Jason Rimmer, Peggy Mette, and Penny Lechuga, and two great-grandchildren, Hayden (Jack) Mette, and Hannah Rimmer.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Ron, brothers: Elvin, Clair, Ralph, Delmar, Roy, and Frank and sisters Elva, and Marie.
