Obituary

Elvin "Bones" Lightner, 83, of Sioux City, IA, passed away on February 21st, 2014, at the VA Hospital in Sioux Falls, SD.
Born in Fulton, KY, to Richard and Lurleen Lightner, he served his country in the Korean War and settled in Sioux City, IA, where he became the well-known owner/operator of Lightner Beauty Shine auto detailing service for over 30 years. He was also a member of the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks for many years.
He is survived by his wife Marvelean, brother Bobby Lightner, sons Terry (Joyce) Sims, and Elvin Lightner, Jr., and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Those who knew him best recall a man of integrity, physical power, and a man of few words, a man who never really sweated either the small or large stuff (like illnesses or tornadoes a hundred yards away), but was quite handy with a hilarious saying for every situation. And chances are, you borrowed a few of them and used them on your own kids.
You will be truly missed. We love you!
