Elliotte “Farmer” C. Saunders, 75, of Jackson, NE, passed away March 10, 2025.  A funeral mass will be held Friday, March 14, 2025, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Jackson, NE.  Visitation will be Thursday from 4-7:00 p.m., with a vigil at 6:00 p.m. at the church.  Burial will be at St. John's Cemetery in Jackson, NE.  Arrangements are under the direction of Waterbury Funeral Service of Sioux City.

Elliotte was born on March 20, 1949, in Sergeant Bluff, IA to Eugene and Luella (Peterson) Saunders.  He graduated high school and began his career farming.  Elliotte also worked as a trucker and recycled the flight 232 plane.  He was united in marriage to Tina Brienzo on September 20, 1980, at St. Peter’s Church in South Dakota.  Elliotte enjoyed racing and talking on the phone.  He was a talented mechanic and all around fix it man.  He could rebuild engines and do body work.  He was patient and never saw anyone as a bad person.  He was really proud when he converted to Catholicism on March 20, 2013, and was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church.

Those left to honor his memory include his wife, Tina Saunders; sister, Karen (Rick) Oster; brothers-in-law: Terry Kern, Robert (Corneisha) Brienzo, and Gary (Ann) Brienzo; many nieces and nephews; as well as many other people he thought of as his children.

He is preceded in death by his parents; sisters: Shirley (Richard) Cook, Janet Saunders-Kern; brother, Kirk Saunders; and mother and father-in-law, Marguerite and Alfred Brienzo.
