Ellen D. Story, 91, of Sioux City, passed away Tuesday, November 8, 2016 at her residence. A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 am, Saturday, November 12, 2016 at Trimble United Methodist Church. A visitation will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 pm, Friday, November 11 at the church. Burial will be in St. Michael's Catholic Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Waterbury Funeral Service of Sioux City.

Ellen was born on June 21, 1925 in Brandt, South Dakota, the daughter of Martin and Lillian Ruhd. She graduated from Brandt High School in 1943. Following high school, she moved to Sioux City where she met Lawrence Story, they were married on February 28, 1948.

In 1961, Ellen attended cosmetology school and opened a beauty salon in her home, name "Stylette."

She was a member of Trimble United Methodist Church. She enjoyed dancing, crocheting, ceramics, rummage sales, gambling at the casinos, country music, and gardening. Ellen loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.

Survivors include her children, George Story and his wife Maralene of Waterloo, IA, Jon Story of Arizona, and Trula Beals and her husband Daniel of Sioux City; brother, Darrell Ruhd; grandchildren, Garner Story, Zach Beals, Carson Story, and Hannah Beals.

Ellen was preceded in death by her parents; husband; son, David; 5 sisters; 1 brother; and 2 grandchildren, Erika and Marcus Story.
