Ellen Kay Rachuy, 78 of Sioux City, Iowa passed away Wednesday, August 7, 2024, at her home, surrounded by the love of her family.  She fought a long hard battle; Ellen never gave up. Celebration of Life will be held 11:00am Saturday, September 7, 2024, at the Wesley Global Methodist Church,3700 Indian Hills Dr., Sioux City, Iowa. Visitation will be held one hour prior at the church.

Ellen was born September 7, 1945, in Sibley, Iowa the daughter of Harold and Eleanor (Klever) Pyle. She grew up in Sibley and graduated from Sibley High School. On May 1, 1961, Ellen married Ronald "Ron" Rachuy in Las Vegas, Nevada at 2:00am at the Little White Church, they were happily married for 63 years. In this union they had four children: Jerome, Kim, Shane, and Chad. Ellen had the most amazing love for her family and would do anything for them. She lit up when her grandbabies would come around.

Ellen and Ron enjoyed fishing at Lake Shore Resort in Minnesota. She enjoyed watching sports, especially Iowa basketball and softball, and Nebraska volleyball. Ellen enjoyed all sports and bowled, played on a women’s softball league for 27 years, and coached her children’s T-ball teams.  Ellen had a fierce love for her family, she would light up around her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.  Ellen was a strong, outgoing woman who fought her health issues up until the end. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Ellen was a member of the Wesley global Methodist Church.

Those left to honor her memory include her husband, Ronald "Ron" Rachuy; children: Jerome Rachuy, Kim (David) Miller, Shane (Amy) Rachuy, and Chad Rachuy; five grandchildren: Brett (Kylie) Miller, Brittany (Josh) King, Ali Rachuy, Kyler Rachuy and Journey Thompson, great-grandchildren; and her brothers and sisters.

She is preceded in death by her parents.
