Elizabeth Ann "Betsy" Bueltel, 57, of Sergeant Bluff, died Sunday, June 17, 2012 at her residence surrounded by loved ones after an eight month battle with cancer.
Visitation will be Thursday from 4-8 pm at the Sergeant Bluff Community Center.
The family will be present to greet friends at 5 pm with a Celebration of Life Ceremony beginning at 6 pm. Graveside services will held at Friday at 10:00 am at Memorial Park Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Waterbury Funeral Service.
Betsy was born on July 18, 1954 in Rapid City, South Dakota, the daughter of Paul and Shirley (Wittkop) Tobin. On February 15, 1975 she was united in marriage to James Bueltel in Sioux City.
Betsy was a long time employee of the South Sioux City Community School District. She was a member of Nativity Catholic Church.
She loved spending time with her children and grandchildren and will be remembered for her compassion, kindheartedness,
being there for those in need, her ability to always find a bargain, hosting her annual Grandma Olympics and having sleepovers and ‘silly suppers’ with her
grandkids.
Betsy is survived by her son Pat Bueltel and his wife Tanya of Sergeant Bluff; her daughters Heather and her husband Brad Bird of Lawrence, Kansas and Micky and her husband Mark Ouellette of Sergeant
Bluff; her grandchildren, Carter and Kendal Bueltel, Blake, Shelbie Cole and Brayton Ouellette; her father, Paul Tobin; 7 brothers, Dave, Mark, Mike, Matt, Steve, Dan and John Tobin; her 2 sisters, Paula
Hunstad and Sue Collins; her mother in-law, Lucille Bueltel; her brother in-law Bernard Bueltel; and her sister in-law, Mary McGuirk.
She was preceded in death by her mother Shirley Tobin, her husband James Bueltel, a sister, Mary Priscilla and her father in-law, Edmund Bueltel.
