Obituary

Elizabeth "Beth" Anne Dailey, 64, of Sioux City, IA, passed away June 11, 2025, at a local hospital.  A memorial service will be held Friday, June 20 at 7:00 p.m., with a visitation 1 hour prior at Waterbury Funeral Service in Sioux City.

Beth was born on July 8, 1960, in Sioux City, IA to Jack and Patricia (Benton) Dailey.  She graduated from Heelan High School and went on to attend Western Iowa Tech Community College.  Beth married Pete Mapes in 1987, and they had 3 beautiful children. She worked as an RN at John Morrell, Tri-State Nursing, for Hospice, also worked for her special friend Tony Drake at smoking Tony D’s and later worked at Kum and go. Beth was stubborn and outgoing, she enjoyed going on rides with her best friend, playing games on her tablet and spending time with her grandchildren. She was a mom and grandma to all who came to her and considered them all family.


Those left to honor her memory include her children: Troy (Jamie) Mapes, Brandon (Jenny) Mapes, Teresa (Ramon) Mapes-Garcia; and many grandchildren: Neleah Mapes, Taylee Rausch, Kayden Mapes , Dominik Strawn and Dylan Strawn; great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews who all held a special place in her heart; siblings: Mary (Jeff) Waldman, Jim (Tammy) Dailey, Jack (Brenda) Dailey.


She is preceded in death by her parents, brother Joe and her special friend Bill.
