Elisea Alvarado De Garcia, 68, of Sioux City, IA, passed away Sunday, May 24, 2026 at a local care center. There will be no services at this time. Arrangements are under the direction of Waterbury Funeral Service of Sioux City.

Elisea was born on July 14, 1957 in Matehuala San Luis, Mexico to Epifañio and Narcisia Alvarado. She married Felipe Mendez and was a wonderful wife. She was also a great Mother. Elisea worked at a variety of places throughout Siouxland, including IBP, for a local florist, and Wells Blue Bunny.

She enjoyed knitting blankets and purses and was an excellent cook. She could always be found listening to Mexican music while cooking or cleaning, always keeping friends and family with full bellies.

Those left to honor her memory include her children: Maria Sanchez, Marta Kalchthaler, Rita Freimark, Emmanuel Mendez, Christina Garcia, Danny Garcia, and Tony Garcia; grandchildren: Esmeralda, Erendida, Carmen, Victoria, Cristina, Karina, Anna, Juan, Ricardo, Sara, Jason jr, 16 great-grandchildren, her beloved brother, Juan Alvarado and her dog Daisy.
