Eleanor A. Choquette, 92, of Salix, Iowa passed away Wednesday, January 2, 2013 at a local hospital. Services will be held 10:30 am Saturday at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Salix. Burial will be in the St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday at the church, 5-8 pm, with a 7 pm Vigil Service. Arrangements are under the direction of Waterbury Funeral Service.
Eleanor was born August 15, 1920 in Sergeant Bluff, Iowa, daughter of Ellis and Ada (Edwards) Copple. She married Rene Choquette at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Salix on July 6, 1939. In 1943, they moved to Omaha. In 1945 Rene and Eleanor returned to the Salix area to farm until retirement in 1976 when they moved into Salix. Eleanor was an active member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. Rene passed away in 1989.
Survivors include sons Ramon and his wife Joann of Sioux City, Mark and his wife Marlene of Sloan, and David of Sergeant Bluff, daughters Renee Beacom and her husband William of Sioux City, and Karen Hayes and her husband Lester of Leesburg, Virginia, sister Evelyn Dean of Sloan, twenty-five grandchildren, seventy-two great grandchildren, and seven great-great grandchildren.
