Eleanor G. Case, 99 of Sioux City, Iowa passed away Saturday, July 10, 2021 at care facility in Cherokee, Iowa. Memorial Service will be held 11:00 am Friday, July 16, 2021 at the Waterbury Funeral Service of Sioux City, 4125 Orleans Ave. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.  Arrangements are under the direction of Waterbury Funeral Service of Sioux City.

Eleanor Gennivieve Case was born December 9, 1921 in Marcus, Iowa the daughter of Ned and Ann (Bird) Bork. She graduated from Marcus High School. Eleanor married Melvin Case May 31, 1947. She worked for Sioux City Battery Factory before she married Melvin. Eleanor was a homemaker for many years; she also worked for Younker’s for 25 years. Eleanor also worked with her daughter Barb at the coffee shop at the 185 Air Guards.

Eleanor was an avid bowler for many years of her life. She also enjoyed traveling and camping and especially attending all the ball games, band concerts and choir events of her grandchildren.

She is survived by her two daughters, Barb Grant and friend Larry of Sioux City, IA, Bev Holmes of Sloan, IA, son, Brad Case of Sioux City, IA, daughter-in-law, Kerry Case of Sioux City, IA, two sisters, Thelma Gravenish of Marcus, IA, Mary Ellen Gravenish-Blair of Meriden, IA, sister-in-law, Rhoda Bork of Apple Valley, MN, seven grandchildren, Shelly Eggleston, Joe (Tracy) Case-Williams, Jennifer (Matt) Mansfield, Kelly (Steve Martin) Holmes, Jeremy (Jennifer) Holmes, Josh Case and Jason (Nancy) Case, 13 great grandchildren, and 3 great great grandchildren.

Eleanor is preceded in death by her parents, husband, Melvin in 2010, son, Steve Case, three sisters, Natty Ann Harman, Kate Chase, and Milly Erickson, and two brothers, Jr. Ned Bork, and Lloyd Bork, son-in-laws, George Grant, Rick Holmes, daughter-in law, Sheri Case and grandson, Tracy Holmes.
