Eleanor Bertha Baier, 70, of Pender, NE, passed away surrounded by her children and closest friends on June 9, 2026 at a local hospital. A celebration of her life will be held 6pm-8pm on Thursday, June 25 at the Cornerstone Church in Pender, Nebraska. Arrangements are under the direction of Waterbury Funeral Service of Sioux City.

Eleanor was born on August 29, 1955 in Pender, NE to Otto and DeLoris (Beck) Bentjen. She graduated from high school and went on to work as a cosmetologist at Younkers Department store for many years. She also worked at IBP and was the manager at Dollar General. She enjoyed crafting and loved spending time with her grandchildren.

Those left to honor her memory include her children: Tracy (Kirby) Lamp, Travis Knudsen, Tyler Bassett, and Triston Baier; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and siblings: Nancy (Dave) Johnson, Chuck (Donna) Bentjen, and Sara Sue (Eric) Larson.

She is preceded in death by her parents; brother, Fred Bentjen; and sisters: Peg Christiansen and Shirley Glissman.
