Edward "Ed" Gaynor, 75, of Dakota City, NE, passed away peacefully at his home on October 13, 2025. Ed was born on December 3, 1949 to James and LaVonne (Oberman) Gaynor in Sioux City, IA. He attended Riverside High School, but later relocated to Northern California in 1967, to follow his high school sweetheart, Charlotte Farley.

Ed and Charlotte were married in 1968 and later settled in Southern California, to start a family. Ed worked for many years at Reynold's Metals, before he went on to manage the family motorcycle business. With Ed's help and hard work ethic, the business grew to be one of the largest and most successful motorcycle businesses in California. In 1992, the family moved back to the Midwest and bought a large farmhouse to restore and to enjoy a slower-paced life. Ed's final venture was at Prince Hydraulics, before he officially retired in 2019.

Ed enjoyed refinishing classic cars and spent countless hours in the garage. He was highly skilled in autobody work and took pleasure in helping family and friends with automotive projects. Ed also enjoyed riding motorcycles, family vacations to the desert and visiting new places. He loved thrift shopping with his wife and spending time with his family and friends. He loved doing household projects; there wasn't much he couldn't fix or build. Ed had a special bond with his sons, and he adored his seven grandchildren. He made many friends along the way and loved cracking jokes or making people laugh. He was loved by all that knew him.

Ed was preceded in death by his father, James Leroy Gaynor, his mother LaVonne (Oberman) Gaynor, his brother Richard Gaynor, his grandson, Trenton Harris and most recently, his wife, Charlotte (Farley) Gaynor.

Ed is survived by his sons Terry Gaynor, Todd Gaynor, daughter-in-law, Ursula Gaynor; his grandchildren: Amanda Gaynor, Tyler Harris, Alexis Gaynor, Aiden Gaynor, Olivia Gaynor, and Royce Gaynor. He is also survived by his sisters, Bonnie (Gaynor) Johnson and Lori Gaynor, his brother James (Allen) Gaynor, his sister-in-law Vicky (Farley) Boucher, brother-in-law Harold (Butch) Farley and his many nieces and nephews.

No funeral services will be held, but a celebration of life for both Ed and Charlotte will be held in the future.
