It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Marie Edna Pelletier, who passed away peacefully on June 22, 2024, at the age of 78.
A funeral Mass in Honor of Marie Edna Pelletier will be held at Saint Gregory's Church, 1043 Stafford Avenue, Bristol, CT on August 14, 2024, at 10:00am. A Christian Burial with graveside ceremony will take place in Saint Agatha Maine, Upper Cemetery on August 19, 2024.
Some knew her as Edna and others as Marie, but whatever she was called she was still a cherished mother of 3 and loving sister of 16, leaving a lasting impact on all those who were fortunate enough to know her. Her kind heart, warm smile, and unwavering love for her family and friends will always be remembered.
Born on December 29, 1945, in Madawaska, Maine to Alfred and Helen Pelletier. she grew up in a family that farmed. She later went on to have a successful career and retirement from Connecticut Valley Hospital, where she dedicated herself to caring for patients and making a difference in their lives.
Post moving to Connecticut, Marie married Paul Amenta and together they shared 12 years. They were blessed with 2 sons, Darryle and Kirk who brought immense joy to her life. She was a pillar of strength for her boys, always putting their needs first and working tirelessly to provide for them.
An avid bowler most of her adult life, Marie Edna had a competitive spirit like no other. She spent countless hours crocheting and creating cherished memories with her sisters, and later in life found a love for animals, especially her dog, Precious.
Marie Edna is survived by her sons Darryle (Christine) Amenta of Pennsylvania, Kirk Amenta of Tennessee and daughter Linda (Richard) Brouillette of Massachusetts, along with her grandchildren Makenzie (Dawson) Tracy, Kennedy Amenta, and great grandchildren Oaklynn and Knox.
She is also survived by her siblings, Irma Pelletier, Thelma Cyr Hopkins, Rose Marie (Guy) Pelletier Gauvin, Blanche (Larry) Cyr Bell, Romeo Pelletier, Cecile Casey, Lorraine (Germain) Pelletier Gosselin, Ronald Pelletier and Sylvia Pelletier Nadeau.
Marie Edna was preceded in death by her parents Alfred and Helen Pelletier, Sisters, Nora Pelletier, Edwina Pelletier Sirois. Brothers, Normand Pelletier, Roger Pelletier, Roland Pelletier and, Milford Pelletier
Though Marie Edna may be gone, her memory will live on in the hearts of all those who knew and loved her. May she rest in peace.
