Eddie D. Stewart, 64, of Sergeant Bluff, Iowa, passed away Tuesday, July 9, 2013 at his residence. Services will be held 10:00 a.m. Saturday, July 13 at Waterbury Funeral Service with Rev. Darrin Vick officiating.
Eddie was born in Sioux City on February 3, 1949, the son of Virgil and Dorothy (Irwin) Stewart. He attended Sioux City Schools. Eddie married Dee Prodehl on October 9, 1965 in Elk Point, South Dakota. Eddie first started working at Johnson Biscuit in Sioux City, and later, for several years as a garbage truck driver. Eddie co-owned Lewis and Stewart Garbage Service with his brother, Butch. Lastly, he worked for Klinger Properties as a maintenance man.
Eddie loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.
Survivors include his daughter Tammy Peters and her husband Mike of Sioux City, sisters Debbie Wagner, JoAnn (Sonny) McQuillen, Mary (Bob) Lewis, Joyce (Dick) Brown all of Sioux City, and Sandy (Dan) Koopman of Sioux Falls, SD, grandchildren Tabitha Welty and Kody Peters, and many nieces and nephews that loved him very much.
Eddie was preceded in death by his parents, wife Dee, brother Butch, sisters Carol and Sherry, nephew Donnie, and niece Stacy.
