Earl Lee Bowman, 85, passed away at his home peacefully on Tuesday, July 22, 2025. Funeral Service will be held 10:00am Friday, July 25, 2025, at the Waterbury Funeral Service of Sioux City, 1425 Orleans Ave. Burial will be in Dakota City Cemetery, Dakota City, Nebraska. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
Earl was born on June 2, 1940, in Decatur, Nebraska the son of Earl and Liberty (Halstead) Bowman. He was one of fourteen siblings. His family later moved to South Sioux City, Nebraska, where he spent the remainder of his life. In 1958, Earl married the love of his life, Judy, and together they built a life of love and happiness.
Earl worked throughout his life as a Logger, Junker, and a Car Salesman. His most recent "job" involved Wednesdays at WinnaVegas. But more than any job title, he was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He loved fishing, racing, and making people laugh with his unforgettable jokes and stories.
He is survived by his children: Earl "Len" Bowman, Terry (Bernie) Bowman, Sherri (Jim) Maffit, Jake (Michele) Bowman, John (Michelle) Bowman, many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren, all of whom will carry forward his memory and spirit.
Earl was preceded in death by his beloved wife Judy, his parents, Earl and Liberty, his brothers; Harold and Kenny, sisters; Dina, Mary, and Bev, and his daughter-in-law, Juli Bowman.
Earl's memory will forever be cherished by all who knew and loved him.
