Duane Clinton Prescott, 77, of Salix, IA, passed away surrounded by his family on November 13, 2025 at the Mitchell Hospice House in Sioux City, IA. A celebration of his life is pending. Arrangements are under the direction of Waterbury Funeral Service of Sergeant Bluff.

Duane was born on January 26, 1948 in Laurel, NE to Allen and Adeline (Anderson) Prescott. He graduated high school in Allen, NE and went on to receive his bachelor degree at Kearney State in Kearney, NE. Duane had various jobs as a medical technologist working in labs. He was a co-owner of a locker plant and worked with his dad as a mechanic. His last job before retirement was working at Family Healthcare in South Sioux City, NE. He was united in marriage to Karen Munson on June 25, 1967 in Wakefield, NE. Duane enjoyed playing games with his family, going to the casino, and hanging out with friends.

Those left to honor his memory include his wife of 58 years, Karen Prescott; sons: Brad (Michelle) Prescott and Randy (Michelle) Prescott; grandsons: Carter (Ashleigh), Cole (Paige), and Gabe; great-grandson, Shepherd; and a sister, Shelly (Terry) Keebler, niece Jennifer and nephew Mike.

He is preceded in death by his parents; brother, Jim; and sister, Sharon.
