Douglas John Coney, 58, of Sioux City, IA, passed away January 22, 2024.  Per his wishes, cremation has taken place and there will be no services.  Arrangements are under the direction of Waterbury Funeral Service of Sioux City.

Douglas John Coney (Doug) was born November 4, 1965 In Sioux City, Iowa. Doug graduated from North high school in 1984 and briefly attended Iowa State University. Doug returned to Sioux City to rejoin the family business of selling motorcycles and automobiles. He also worked in telecommunications sales for various companies.  As a youngster, Doug raced motocross which prepared him for a career as a winning stock car driver in the late 90s at interstate Speedway, Park Jefferson speedway, and other area tracks.  Doug was a friend of Bill W.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Patricia Coney, father, Robert J. (Bob) Coney, and nephew, Dylan Eyer.

He is survived by his brothers and sisters-in-law James Coney of Sioux City, Bob and Julie Coney South, Sioux City, and John and Christine Coney of Carlisle, Iowa, nieces and nephew Erin Eyer Coney of California, Abby Coney of Iowa City, and Bob Coney of Carlisle.
