Douglas R. Bras, 62 of Hinton, Iowa passed away Sunday, April 30, 2023. Services will be held 10:00am Saturday, May 6, 2023, at the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Sioux City, Iowa. Visitation will be held at 9:00am until service time at the church. Arrangements are under the direction of Waterbury Funeral Service of Sioux City, Iowa.

Douglas was born July 11, 1960, in Sioux City, Iowa to Raymond and Mary (Fisher) Bras. Douglas grew up in the Sheldon area. He graduated in 1978 from Hull Western Christian School. On August 6, 1994, he married Shara Froehlich. Douglas was a self-employed semi-truck driver for 40 years.

As a young boy Douglas liked to ride dirt bikes and snowmobiles, and loved to go fishing with his dad, but more recently enjoyed riding his motorcycle. Douglas greatest joy was his family.

Douglas was a member of the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Sioux City, Iowa.

He is survived by his wife, Shara, son, Dallas (Amanda Brown), three daughters, Angela (Gary) Uttrich, Tracy (David) Swearingen, Courtney Bras, two sisters, Lori (Craig) Osland, Michelle (Dennis) Hoksbergen, and ten grandchildren: Elizabeth, Lily, Madeline, Emma, Kiernan, Carter, Bennett, Marley, Clayton, and Montana.

Douglas is preceded in death by his parents.
