Dorrance “D” Hunt, 74, of Sioux City, Iowa, passed away October 5, 2024, at his home. A private Celebration of Life will be held with the family. Arrangements are under the direction of Waterbury Funeral Service of Sioux City.

D was born on November 13, 1949, in in Akron, Iowa, the son of Darrell and Helen (Mackey) Hunt. After high school, D enlisted in the United States Army.  He was stationed in Okinawa and at Ft. Huachuca, Arizona. While in Arizona, D met his wife Jean Marie Vaught. They spent over 47 years together. D earned his degree in welding and worked as a mechanic/welder for Dakota Mechanical.  He enjoyed riding his motorcycle, 4-wheeling, demolition derbies and fishing.

Those left to honor his memory include his four sons: Dean (Stephanie) Hunt, DJ Hunt, Michael Hunt (Vaught), and Jason (Jay Jay) Hunt; five grandchildren; five great-grandchildren.

D is preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Tammi; and his wife, Jean Marie.
