Dorothy M. Singer, 89 of Sioux City, Iowa passed away Thursday, July 21, 2022, at a local care facility, surrounded by her loving family. Visitation will be held from 4:00pm until 6:00pm and family present at 7:00pm Wednesday, July 27, 2022, at the Waterbury Funeral Service of Sioux City, 4125 Orleans Avenue. Burial will be in Slayton, Minnesota on July 28, 2022.

Dorothy was born November 23, 1932, in Slayton, Minnesota the daughter of Vurne and Emma (Oldewurtel) Beach. She grew up and went to school in Slayton, Minnesota. On June 23, 1951, she married Joseph Zant. Dorothy and Joe traveled the country, while Joe was in the Air Force. They later divorced. Dorothy met Gerald Singer and they were married on December 18, 1979. They would hop in their pick-up and the 5 ^th wheeler and go traveling around the country looking at all the beautiful sites. Dorothy and Gerald settled in Sergeant Bluff in 1979. Gerald died in 1994. Dorothy stayed in Sgt. Bluff until 2018 when she moved to Sioux City.

Dorothy worked with Dr. Heintz and Dr. Dohrman at Oral Surgery Associates. Earlier she was head waitress at Sioux Truck Stop.

She loved to be around her family, going to her grandchildren’s events, putting puzzles together and playing games on the computer. She sewed for years, enjoying every minute of it.

Dorothy is survived by her two daughters, Debbie (Paul) Tagstrom of Jefferson, SD, Julie Wentzel of Sioux Falls, SD, two sons, Steve (Chris) Zant of Bronson, IA, John Zant of Sioux City, IA, sister, Marge Whattler, brother, Don Beach, 9 grandchildren, and 16 great grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her husband Gerald, parents, two brothers, Dale Beach and Bob Beach, and sister, Verna Schaefer.
