Dorothy May Fish, 75, of Sioux City, IA, passed away June 16, 2026.  A memorial visitation will be held from 11-1:00 p.m. at  Waterbury Funeral Service of Sioux City.

Dorothy was born on November 10, 1949, in Grand Forks, ND, to Lewis and Luaine (Brenna) Pierce. In 1995, she married Dale Fish, and together they lovingly blended their families. Their union was filled with laughter, devotion, and deep pride in their seven grandchildren and eighteen great-grandchildren.

Throughout her life, Dorothy held a variety of roles. She worked in the trucking industry for Heyl and Hirshbach, held multiple positions in the hotel sector, served as a veterinary receptionist, and cooked with heart as a chef for Meals on Wheels.

A proud North Dakota native, Dorothy had a deep fondness for Mocha Bars, North Dakota potatoes, and The Red Pepper Restaurant. She found joy in cooking for loved ones, with her potato and macaroni salads often making an appearance at her cherished holiday meals.

Dorothy also enjoyed playing the slot machines, watching a variety of TV (Go Panthers), and collecting bells. She had a lifelong passion for dogs and opened her heart and home to many beloved rescues over the years.

She is lovingly remembered by her children: Troy (Linda), Joey, Wendy (Chad), Scott (Maria), and Sarah (Ben); her siblings: Alett (Harold) Boyd, Kim Torgerson, and Tammy (Craig) Slininger; her many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and a wide circle of family and friends who were touched by her warmth and kindness.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Dale; and her siblings, Carlean Evans and Leon Pierce.

Dorothy will be remembered for her generous heart, her deep love for her family, and the kindness she extended to all. Her memory will live on in the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing her.
