Obituary

Doris Mae McKercher Jarman, 91, of Sioux City, IA passed away from natural causes on August 24, 2013 at a local care facility.

Doris will be cremated and a celebration of her life will be held in a small private family service at a later date. Arrangements are under the direction of Waterbury Funeral Service. Doris was born in Morningside on June 6, 1922. She grew up there and as a young girl loved to sing and draw. She was a member of the Morningside Presbyterian Church for well over 50 years. She was also a member of the Girls of ’68 and a Daughter of the American Revolution (DAR). During World War II she served honorably as a WAVE in the U. S. Navy as an Aviation Machinist’s Mate Third Class.

Doris is preceded in death by her parents: Alwin and Elsie McKercher, one son, Jeffery John Jarman, her grandson, Paul Jarman, Jr., her twin sister Donna Marie Watts, and brother Robert Alwin McKercher.

Doris is survived by her sisters’ Bonnie Charlotte Adams, Joyce Jeanette Schild and Patricia Ann “Pam” Heil and by her brother, Thomas Price McKercher. Her daughter, Sharon Ann Dowhan, and her four children, Kenneth, Jennette, Shannon and Amber and the great-grand children, Turner, Kendra, Brandon, Sierra, Trevor, Charlie and Nickolas, and also by her son Paul Thomas Jarman and his two sons, David and Randy.
