Obituary

Donna L. Wynn, 67 of Sioux City, died Monday, August 29, 2016 at a hospital in LeMars, IA.

Memorial service will be held 10:30am Thursday, September 1, 2016 at Augustana Lutheran Church, with Rev. Del Oliver officiating. Burial will be at Logan Park Cemetery. Visitation will be held Wednesday, August 31, 2016 from 4-8pm with family present from 6-8pm and prayer service at 7:00pm all at the church. Arrangements are under the direction of Waterbury Funeral Service of Sergeant Bluff.

Donna Lee Wynn was born December 6, 1948 in Keithsburg, Illinois the daughter of Donovan and Elizabeth “Bobbi” (Roberts) Hilligoss. She graduated from LaHarpe, Illinois High School. Donna continued her education at NE Missouri State (Truman State University) in Missouri. She received her BA Degree in Education from Briar Cliff University. She later received her Master’s Degree from Morningside College. Donna married Denny Wynn in 1968. Together they moved to Sioux City. They divorced after 19 years. She taught at Webster, Hunt and Clark Schools in the Sioux City for over 39 years, continuing as a substitute teacher after retirement. In 2009, she earned the Iowa History Teacher of the Year Award. Donna’s students will always remember being “Wynn’s Winners”. Donna married her long time companion, Dan Beaubien in Pinellas County, Florida in 2016.

She was the president of the Girls of 1968. Donna loved spending time with her family and all of their activities. Donna enjoyed being involved and would volunteer for everything. She was also an avid runner for most of her life, completing a marathon and several ½ marathons. Her grandchildren will always remember her as the best Ninny ever!

Donna is survived by her husband Dan Beaubien of Sioux City, IA.; one daughter, Dawn (Nathan) Skeries and their daughter Samantha of Ankeny, IA.; one son, Donavon (Kirsten) Wynn and their children, Jackson and Sydnee of Sioux City; two step-sons; Brad Beaubien and his children Ashton and Graysen of Indianapolis, IN., and Danny Beaubien and his son Carson of Sioux City, IA; two additional step-grandchildren, Kaiden Basch and Sebastian Ogle; one sister, Barbara (Michael) Blythe of LaHarpe, Illinois; two brothers, Denny (Joanne) Hilligoss of Stronghurst, IL., and Steve (Kay) Hilligoss of Good Hope, IL; Aunt, June Daum of Sebring, FL; many nieces, nephews; and loyal companion, Sadie, her dog.

Memorials may be directed to the June E. Nylen Cancer Center or a memorial account at Security National Bank in Sioux City, Iowa.
