Donna J. Huisman-Doyle, 82, of Sioux City, IA, passed away surrounded by her family on July 31, 2026. There will be a private family graveside service at Memorial Park Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Waterbury Funeral Service of Sioux City.
Donna was born on March 10, 1944 in Sioux City, IA to Ervin and Cara Mae (Gregg) Scofield. She was united in marriage to Albert Huisman in 1960, and to this union they had three children: Tammy, Kim, and Marty. Later in life Donna married Jerry Doyle. Together they lived in Arizona and Florida, and spent many years traveling, gambling, and enjoying life. Donna lived in Weeki Wachee, FL with her daughter Tammy before returning to Iowa to be closer to family. She found great joy in the warmth of Florida and always held a deep love for the beach. Donna possessed a sharp entrepreneurial spirit and was an exceptionally hard worker who had many different jobs and hobbies throughout her life. Donna loved crafts and flipping houses, successfully transforming over 19 of them. Following in her Mother Cara Mae’s footsteps she ran the family business, Crosstown, becoming a fixture there for many years.
Those left to honor her memory include her daughters, Tammy Huisman and Kim Monell (Jimmy) of Sioux City, and her son Marty Huisman (Trudy) of Sioux City; grandchildren Amber Robinson, Ashley Bartelson (Dave), Jesse Huisman (Sydney), Austin Huisman (Paige), Taylor Rohlk (Chance) of Sioux City; great-grandchildren: Adien, Kaydance, Brooklyn, Brinley, Blair; her brother Ronald Scofield of Sioux City; and several cherished nieces, nephews, including many other relatives and close friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents Cara Mae and Ervin Scofield; her sister Sharon Richards, brother Gerald (Skippy) Scofield.
