Donald V. Zeman, 77 of Sioux City, passed away Thursday, January 7, 2016 at his home.
Funeral services will be held 11 am Monday, January 11, 2016 at Waterbury Funeral Service of Sioux City, 4125 Orleans Ave. with Rev. Merrill Muller officiating. Military Rites will be provided by the US Air Force, at the funeral home. Visitation will be Sunday 5-7 pm with the family present at the funeral home. Burial will be held at 9 am Tuesday, at Calvary Cemetery.
Donald Vernon Zeman was born on April 20, 1938 in Toledo, Ohio, the son of Vernon and Clara (Case) Zeman. Don joined the US Air Force in 1955. On April 23, 1956, he was united in marriage to Gayle Oster in Windsor, Conn. After his honorable discharge in 1965, they made their home in Sioux City.
Don worked at IBP, Booth Fisheries, and later for Jefferson-Smurfit until his retirement in 2000.
Don was a member of the Sioux City Mustang Club, the Sioux City Strollers, and a charter member of the Sioux City 4 Wheelers.
Don is survived by his wife Gayle; 4 sons, Donald (Rebecca) Zeman of Norfolk, Nebraska, John (Cindy) Zeman, William Zeman and Tom (Melissa) Zeman, all of Sioux City; 11 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren; 2 brothers, Dave Zeman of Las Vegas, Nevada and Daniel Zeman of Oregon; 1 sister, Bonnie (John) Tiedy of Medford, Oregon.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
