Paul Snodgrass, 79 of Sioux City, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, October 16, 2012 at his residence following a courageous battle with cancer.
The Snodgrass girls and Barb would like to invite all Paul’s friends and family to The Syd, 201 4th Street, on Sunday, October 21st at 1:00 pm to celebrate his life. Arrangements are with the assistance of Waterbury Funeral Service.
Paul was born on October 23, 1932 in Sloan, Iowa, the son of Earl and Bernice (Roberts) Snodgrass. Paul graduated from the Sloan High School in 1950. He married Barbara Christensen on November 1, 1951.
They moved from Sloan to Sioux City during 1964. He was a very hard worker, teaching his kids to follow in his footsteps. At a young age, he began working for a lumber yard, later a milk truck driver, and owned his own gravel truck. He worked at Needham’s SC Dressed Beef, then drove for Kent Feed (Mau Trucking). Anyone who hired Paul truly appreciated his hard work ethics. He retired in 1995, but kept busy doing woodworking, keeping his yard and home spotless, all while caring for his family.
Paul is survived by his wife Barbara of 61 years; his daughters, Christy Frisch, Kay (Jerry) Coyle, Paula Snodgrass Wilson and Becky (Marc) Stratmeier; his brothers, John, Jim, Jerry, and Chuck Snodgrass; his grandchildren, Lisa Frisch, Heather Coyle, Holly Struthers, Sara Frisch, Shannon (Charles) Cox; his great –grandchildren, Matthew, Derek, Cayla, Alissa, JT, Callie, Hannah, Arie, Emma and Charlie; and his great-great grandson, Benton.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his only son Steve, a brother, Bill, grandson Geoff Frisch and son-in-law, Dan Frisch.
The family expresses special thanks to Hospice of Siouxland (The Angels). The family also requests all memorials to be made to Hospice of Siouxland in Paul’s memory.
