Donald J. Rich, 77 of Willits, California formally of Sioux City, Iowa passed away Tuesday, November 29, 2022, surrounded by his family. Graveside service will be held 11:00am Saturday, December 10, 2022, at Logan Park Cemetery. Military Honors will be provided the United States Marines and American Legion Post 697. Visitation will be held from 4-7pm Friday, December 9, 2022, at the St. Paul Indian Mission, Sioux City, Iowa.

Donald James Rich was born on July 23, 1945 in Sioux City, Iowa the son of Mary Ellen Redwing.

Donald was a proud United States Marine and served in the Vietnam War. He was a graduate of the University of California Berkeley with a degree in Native American Studies.

He made his life in California where he was journeyman millwright and spent many years putting his degree to use helping tribes as a tribal administrator. He enjoyed fishing, pool, baseball and bowling with his wife. Donald valued family and loved spending time with his grandchildren.

Donald is survived by his wife, Arvelyn Rich, his five children Kathryn, Don, Chris, Nathan, and Alec.
