Donald E. Peterson, 67 of South Sioux City, died Wednesday, February 14, 2018 after a 2 year battle with cancer, at his residence.

Private services will be held at a later date. Arrangements are under the direction of Waterbury Funeral Service of Sergeant Bluff.

Donald Edward Peterson was born on September 30, 1950 in Sioux City, IA., the son of Oscar and Mildred (Kern) Peterson. He graduated from Central High School in 1969. He then went on to serve in the United States Army for 2 years. Don married Cheryl on June 20, 1980. Donald worked for All Power, Sabre Communications and retiring from Rock Tenn/ Smurfit Stone Container in January of 2014.
He loved be outside, boating with his friends and watching car races. Don was known by many names Hob Nobber, Don Juan, Dyno Don, and Donny. Don was well loved and will be missed by many.
Don is survived by his wife Cheryl, a son Jeff Peterson both of South Sioux City, NE. two sisters, Mary (Rich) Sungren of Des Moines, IA., and Marge (Butch) Dierking of Mesa, AZ, and his favorite mother – in –law Helen Karnes.

He proceeded in death by his parents and sister Charlotte.
