Donald L. Hartman, 89 of Sioux City, Iowa passed away Sunday, July 17, 2022 at his home, surrounded by his family. Services will be held 10:30am Thursday, July 21 at the Waterbury Funeral Service of Sioux City, 4125 Orleans Ave. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Military Honors will be provided by the United States Army.

Donald was born July 17, 1933 in Sioux City, Iowa the son of Edwin and Gladys (Ellingson) Hartman. Don grew up in Sioux City, Iowa. After Donald graduated High School, he enlisted in the United States Army and received an honorable discharge in 1953.  On June 24, 1954 he married the love of his life Jana Lynn Cain, and in this union, they had four children. Their youngest son, Dean Patrick passed away shortly after birth. Donald and Jana raised their family in Sioux City, Iowa.

He loved to play his guitar; Don would play at the Senior Center. He enjoyed going snowmobiling, telling stories (which he was very good at). Donald spent a lot of time on his yard; he wanted it to be perfect.

Don is survived by his two sons, Michael and Gary Hartman, daughter, Kathy Jensen, brother, Eldean “Short” Hartman, sister, Geri Munson, seven grandchildren, Zack Jensen, Seth Jensen, Dylan Jensen, Patrick Hartman, Jullian Hartman, Megan Hartman, and Sean Hartman, 15 great grandchildren, and three great great grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his parents, wife, Jana, son, Dean Patrick, and brother, Richard Hartman.
