Donald R. Harder, 70 of Columbus, Nebraska, formerly of Ft. Morgan, Colorado, died Saturday, December 28, 2013 in Columbus.
Services will be held 11 am Tuesday, December 31, 2013 at Waterbury Funeral Service in Sergeant Bluff. Visitation with the family will be from 10 am until time of service.
Don was born on July 16, 1943 in Afton, Iowa, the son of Edward and Dorothy (Johnson) Harder. Don attended school in Sergeant Bluff and then started work at Needham Packing Company in Sioux City. He worked at various packing houses in Iowa and South Dakota. Since 2001 Don has been working for Cargill in Ft. Morgan, Colorado. Don enjoyed fishing and camping.
Don is survived by his children, one son, Bob Taylor of Lincoln, Nebraska; four daughters, Annette (Ron) Ward of Valentine, Nebraska, Robyn Imhof of Columbus, Nebraska, Donnette Bottorff of Lincoln, Nebraska and Janette (Brien) Wolff of Columbus, Nebraska; 19 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Lavern Harder of Marshalltown, Iowa and Jim (Paula) Harder of Westminster, Colorado; two sisters, Bonnie Bluhm of Washington and Donna (Denny) Sanderson of Sergeant Bluff; one sister in-law, Nancy Harder of Casper, Wyoming; other relatives and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, Bud, Bob and Kenny Harder and one sister, Evelyn Hodges.
