Donald ‘Bear’ Coffey, 77, of South Sioux City, Nebraska entered into eternal rest on Monday, December 27, 2021 at his home in South Sioux City. Memorial Services will be 11 am Wednesday, January 5, 2022 at Waterbury Funeral Service of Sioux City, with visitation one hour prior.

Donald ‘Bear’ Coffey was born June 11, 1944 in North Carolina, the son of Lester and Grace (Bennett) Coffey. Over the years, Don worked at a Furniture Store while in North Carolina and after moving to the Sioux City area, he worked for the Carnival, drove truck and worked at the Truck Haven. He met Sandra while playing on a pool league and they have been together for over 25 years.

Don had a big heart and was a generous, down to earth soul. He enjoyed spending time with loved ones, solving crossword puzzles, cooking and baking for family & friends. He was an avid hunter and also enjoyed fishing. The 4 ^th of July was Don’s favorite holiday. He loved sharing a grand finale of fireworks each year.

Survivors include his wife, Sandi Coffey of South Sioux City; ten children, Donnie (Diana) Coffey of NC., Jody (Randy) Wessendorf of Sioux City, Gail (Joe) Farmer of AZ., Jimmy (Vicky) Parson of NC., Amanda Payne of NC., Tracie Coffey of Sioux Falls, SD., John Coffey of Sioux Falls, SD., Chester (Amanda) Olson of Sioux City, Claire (Adam) Wilson  of Sioux City and Jeffrey Olson of Sioux City; 22 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Lloyd Coffey of NC., and Bennie (Teena) Coffey of NC and numerous nieces & nephews.

Don is preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Estie Smith; a grandson, Scott Coffey.
