Donald D. Coenen, 85 of Sioux City, died Wednesday, October 8, 2025, in Sioux City.

Memorial Services will be held 2 pm Wednesday, October 22, 2025, at Waterbury Funeral Service of Sioux City, with Military Honors provided by the Marine Corps. Visitation 1 to 3 pm at the funeral home.

Donald Duane Coenen was born on June 22, 1940, in Bismark, North Dakota the son of Pete and Margaret (Scott) Coenen. Donald joined the Marine Corps in November of 1958. After his honorable discharge in 1961, Don worked as a service manager at Volkswagen, and later as a mechanic at Rosenthal Foods retiring as a mechanic of the vehicles at the Boys and Girls Home.

Don was united in marriage to Mary Cameron on August 10, 1974, in Elk Point, SD.  Together they enjoyed traveling, especially to Branson, MO to attend concerts.

Don is survived by his son Ryan Coenen, daughter Tracy Coenen, grandchildren: Braden Coenen, Daniel Bush, Tyler Bush, and Darylanne Coenen; and 4 great-grandchildren, a brother Ray Coenen and a sister, Luella Marr.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Mary in 2024; and a granddaughter, Regan Coenen, one sister Donna and four brothers, George, Ronald, Herman and Albert.
