Dona A. Dickson, 60, of Sioux City, passed away Wednesday, March 15, 2018 at her residence. A celebration of life will be held at 4:00 pm, Saturday, March 17, 2018 at Waterbury Funeral Service of Sioux City. A visitation will be held from 3-5pm at the funeral home.
Dona was born on August 26, 1957 in Sioux City to Wayne and Sharon (Hansen) Shoop. She attended West High School and received her CNA from Western Iowa Tech. As a CNA, Dona worked at Casa de Paz Nursing and Rehab for many years. Dona later worked as a Private Contractor for the State of Nebraska and provided programming for adults with special needs and was active in Special Olympics.
Dona loved bowling, listening to music, and taking care of others. Family and friends were very important to her; often taking care of their needs before her own.
Survivors include her children, Franklin Rask of Sioux City and Carrie (Tom Dodge) Cloudas of Carroll, IA; husband, Joseph Navin of Sioux City; sister, Dusty (Brad) Merryman of Sloan; brother, Danny Berg of Sioux City; grandson, Zace Morey; many grandchildren by heart; and several other extended family members.
Dona was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Loren Shoop; and granddaughter, Ariel Dickson.
